The KCDS Performance Company

The KCDS Performance Company is reserved for exceptionally talented and dedicated dancers who represent our school at local festivals and competitions, with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the prestigious All England Dance Finals.

Members benefit from a wide range of exclusive opportunities, including performances, workshops, and auditions designed to develop them as well-rounded, high-level performers.

Entry is by invitation or audition. Dancers must demonstrate excellence across multiple styles, achieve strong exam results, and show outstanding aptitude, technique, artistry, and commitment.

Being part of the Company requires a serious level of dedication:

Intensive weekly training

Regular private coaching

Additional rehearsals and independent practice

Competitions and performances take place on weekends and during school holidays, and full participation is expected.

If you’re interested in joining the KCDS Performance Company or would like to know more, please contact the office to arrange a discussion.

Performances

At KCDS, there are plenty of exciting performance opportunities for our students—ranging from local fairs and competitions to our annual shows. These performances are an essential part of what we offer. Not only are they fun, but they also build confidence and create cherished memories that students and families can look back on for years to come.

Parents are invited to watch their child’s class three times a year, at the end of the Autumn, Spring, and Summer terms. Additionally, there is a short performance at the end of all our holiday workshops and summer schools.

Past KCDS performances include prestigious venues such as Disneyland Paris, The O2, Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Her Majesty’s Theatre, as well as local events like Warlingham Fair, school fetes, harvest festivals, and charity events.

Our pupils have also successfully auditioned for and performed with esteemed organisations such as the English Youth Ballet, National Youth Theatre, and London Children’s Ballet. They have landed roles in major productions like The Lion King (both for the UK Tour and London’s West End), School of Rock, Tina the Musical, and performed in pantomimes at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls.

DANCE WORLD CUP

In 2024, we proudly entered our very first audition tape for the Dance World Cup, an internationally prestigious competition which, was due to take  place in Burgos, Spain. We were thrilled to have two entries selected to represent Team England: a Junior Classical Group and a Junior Classical Solo.

In an extraordinary debut, we placed 3rd in the UK and an impressive 11th in the World - a phenomenal result for our first time competing on the global stage!

If your child is passionate about dance and would like to be considered for our DWC team, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Auditions for the next cycle will be announced in due course.
